In recent years, podcasting has seen explosive growth. Since 2019, the global audience for podcasts has surged by 69%, now exceeding 400 million listeners. This rise has continued beyond the pandemic-driven boom, with over 2 million independent podcasts and tens of millions of episodes available to a worldwide audience.
As 2024 draws to a close, Gómez Platero presents the debut season of GP Talks, a podcast dedicated to the exchange of insights, ideas, and reflections on key topics related to space design, urban transformation, and their impact on daily life. The first season will feature 6 episodes aimed at fostering inspiration, dialogue, and innovation within the field.
Recorded on-site at the Club House of Huertas de los Horneros in Canelones, Uruguay, the podcast will be available in video format on YouTube and Spotify.
Hosted by journalist Malena Castaldi, GP Talks features prominent local and international guests, including two figures recognized among Bloomberg’s 500 most influential people in LATAM: Cr. Carlos Alberto Lecueder, a leading real estate developer, and Ing. Nicolás Jodal, co-founder of GeneXus. Arq. Marcelo Danza, Dean of the Faculty of Architecture, Design, and Urbanism at UDELAR, also contributes his perspective on the pressing challenges facing urbanism today. Alongside members of the GP team, experts and professionals explore topics such as urban development, design, sustainability, heritage, quality of life, and artificial intelligence, all of which shape the future of architecture and real estate.
GP Talks is part of GP Inside, a multi-platform ecosystem that broadens our reach, ensuring the seamless flow of knowledge and nurturing a collaborative, continuous learning environment. This initiative blends in-person panels—already held in Colombia and soon in Mexico—with the podcast format, extending the conversation into the digital realm.
Podcasting, as a powerful tool in this context, fuels innovation and change through thoughtful and in-depth discussions. These conversations explore relevant trends, strategies, and ideas, connecting listeners to new perspectives and building communities centered around learning and knowledge sharing.

Cities are ever-evolving landscapes, continually growing, reinventing, and transforming. In this episode, Carlos Lecueder, director of Estudio Lecueder, and Martín Gómez Platero, director of Gómez Platero Architecture and Urbanism, delve into how real estate development shapes urban environments.
Drawing from their experiences, they discuss the evolution of urban design, the role of architecture as a catalyst for change, and the importance of well-being, safety, and efficiency in vibrant city life.
Episode 2 | Sustainable Urbanism: Planning for Resilient Development
The steady growth of urban centers presents a challenge: achieving sustainable development that balances social, environmental, and economic dimensions.
In conversation with architect Verónica Colman, a United Nations advisor, and Álvaro Sorrondegui, Director of Executive Projects at Gómez Platero, we reflect on current practices and explore pathways to shape a roadmap for sustainable growth.
Episode 3 | Cities for People: From Urban Scale to Human Scale
Latin America and the Caribbean is the most urbanized region in the world, according to data from the Inter-American Development Bank.
90% of this growth has occurred in an unplanned manner, affecting people’s quality of life. Architect Felipe Vera, BID consultant, Pablo Marqués, President of Grupo Punto, and Carolina Pereiro, Head of the Executive Project Team at Gómez Platero, analyze how people interact with spaces today and the importance of reorienting urban planning toward the user.
Episode 4 | Smar(er) Cities: Resilient Urban Planning
According to the United Nations, by 2050, seven out of ten people will call cities home. How can we design cities that are efficient and sustainable? What defines a smart city? And how do we prepare for the needs of an unpredictable future?
Marcelo Danza, Dean of the Faculty of Architecture at UDELAR, and Arturo de los Santos, Director of Preliminary Design at Gómez Platero, explore the opportunities and challenges of this urban shift. From spatial planning and housing demand to resource management, they delve into the critical questions shaping tomorrow’s cities.

Artificial intelligence is shaping the future of architecture and construction. This technological revolution drives efficiency, innovation, and sustainability.
Together with Nicolás Jodal, CEO of Genexus; Ignacio Supparo, Technology Lead at Gómez Platero; and Martín Gómez Platero, the firm’s Director, we explore how AI is redefining the role of human decision-making in architecture.
