Atlántico Punta, developed by Altius Group, has recently announced the addition of Tienda Inglesa to its shopping center, occupying a space exceeding 3,500 m².
This announcement signifies a pivotal moment in the history of this mixed-use project, establishing it as one of the largest in the country with an investment surpassing 250 million dollars. The project's showroom, situated at Parada 22 on Av. Roosevelt, hosted a significant event on Thursday, February 14th. Distinguished attendees included Maldonado's Mayor, Enrique Antía; Tienda Inglesa's CEO, Juan Manuel Parada; Carlos Lecueder, Director of Estudio Luis E. Lecueder; and Mauricio Levitin, Director of Altius Group, who gathered for the lease signing with the supermarket chain.
Mayor Antía expressed his appreciation for the investors' confidence in this Maldonado venture, remarking that the contract signing "is a clear testament to Atlántico Punta's allure and the substantial support backing this major project." Juan Manuel Parada shared his pride in contributing to a project that "will undoubtedly become a focal point of activity for the area."
Mauricio Levitin elaborated on the project, "Encompassing 120,000 m² of construction, it features a shopping center at its foundation, above which four towers rise. The shopping center, designed to maximize natural light, seamlessly integrates indoor and outdoor areas and utilizes technology to craft unforgettable experiences."
Carlos Lecueder emphasized that "Atlántico Shopping, with its 30,700 m² of retail and leisure spaces, including covered parking, promises a comprehensive experience for both local and international visitors. It will host the finest current brand stores, exclusive designer products and fashion, as well as the best of Uruguay's entertainment offerings, including cutting-edge cinemas, a 1,800 m² gym with an indoor heated pool, leisure areas for all ages, and an extensive selection of cafes and restaurants."
The project is advancing under the rigorous LEED environmental management certification, aimed at environmental conservation throughout the construction process and the project's future use. Furthermore, it was honored as Uruguay's Best Mixed-Use Project of 2020 at the International Property Awards.
"This year, we've launched the shopping center, residential tower, and office tower to the market. The residential tower, unique in Punta del Este for its premium amenities and benefits under the Promoted Housing Law, offers studio, 1, 2, and 3-bedroom apartments. SmartOffice Atlántico provides office spaces ranging from 28 m² to 570 m². We are currently preparing the site for construction beginning in April 2021, aiming to complete the first phase by the end of 2023," added Levitin.
This project is not our first venture with the developer group led by Levitin; we've already inaugurated Nostrum Tower in the Cordón neighborhood and are progressing with three residential projects in Montevideo: More Echevarriarza, More Buceo, and Bilú Riviera. Atlántico Punta, however, marks our first foray into Maldonado and introduces the challenge of creating a mixed-use development, an architectural program in which we have specialized.
