BOOM, URBOP
Reading time: 2 minutes
On Thursday, January 19th, the second edition of BOOM unfolded, focusing on Real Estate and real estate investments at Fontanabella HQ, Guatemala. Organized by URBOP, a leading Real Estate consulting firm in the country, the event convened developers, construction companies, architects, and urban planners to advocate for projects as platforms fostering diverse, cohesive, and enriching social bonds.
The day featured three distinct presentations. The first, led by Tom Murphy, former mayor of Pittsburgh, USA, delved into the changes and evolutions within urban spaces during his tenure and thereafter.
Ricardo Fernández, Regional Manager of the Studio, delivered the second talk, elucidating the varied concepts we employ in developing urban projects across Latin America, including hybrid nature, multiple centralities, and hypermixture in cities.
Wrapping up the event, Juan Carlos Salazar, director of URBOP, provided various examples of cultivating meaningful experiences within projects.
With a notable surge in vertical housing projects, Guatemala is solidifying its position as a city conducive to integrative, hybrid, and mixed developments, capitalizing on its urban density to foster robust and sustainable living experiences.
