On June 26 at 4 PM, Santiago Pérez, Head of International Business Development at Gómez Platero Architecture and Urbanism, presented "From Smart City to Smarter City: Beyond the Intelligent City". Gonzalo Puceiro, Director of the firm, delivered a talk on "Reimagining Cities: Transformation Through Mixed-Use Spaces".
The congress featured over 70 speakers in an auditorium accommodating more than 1,000 attendees. Damián Tabakman, President of the Argentine Chamber of Urban Developers, recognized the achievements of the Paraguayan real estate sector and highlighted key topics covered at the congress, including regional best practices, technology in real estate, marketing strategies, sustainability, and construction techniques.
During the first day of the Expo, over 10 sessions were held, featuring more than 30 industry experts. These sessions addressed strategic topics aimed at maximizing Paraguayan participation in the real estate market. Discussions included public housing policies and sector financing. The intense competition in the real estate credit market and increasing consumer demands, focusing on both amenities and their costs, were also highlighted. A significant housing shortage in low-income sectors was noted, pointing to a market opportunity for affordable projects. Additionally, growing opportunities for design and quality in developments were identified, although the lack of adequate infrastructure remains a key challenge for Paraguay's real estate sector.
In 2024, the Paraguayan real estate market experienced solid growth, with an estimated annual property price increase of 5%. This growth was supported by a 20% rise in foreign direct investment in residential and mixed-use projects, underscoring sustained international investor interest. Major cities like Asunción and Ciudad del Este are witnessing notable urban development, with over 10 new residential and commercial projects under construction. Furthermore, a 15% increase in the construction of modern commercial spaces and offices reflects the sector's dynamic activity. The integration of over 30 proptech companies is driving innovation, significantly improving efficiency and user experience in new real estate developments in the country.
The 2024 edition of Expo Real Estate Paraguay provided a crucial platform for showcasing products and services to investors, developers, builders, and architects, fostering collaboration among industry stakeholders.
