Publication date: August 2024.
Gómez Platero Arquitectura & Urbanismo played a significant role in this year’s edition. Martín Gómez Platero, the Studio's director, was a featured speaker, delivering the keynote "Planning New Projects to Foster Healthy Communities." His presentation was a standout, focusing on innovative urban development strategies that enhance community well-being and quality of life.
During the event, Martín Gómez Platero accepted the award for Best Urban Masterplan for the +Colonia project on behalf of the Studio at the Real Estate Awards ceremony. This accolade celebrates the most outstanding projects and individuals of the year, recognizing contributions to sustainable and innovative growth in the real estate sector.
Santiago Pérez, International Business Developer Manager, also led the workshop "Innovation in Sales & Rental Models: Shaping the Future of Real Estate." The session drew considerable interest, highlighting cutting-edge commercial strategies that are driving the evolution of the market.
A key topic at the event was the introduction of 20-year mortgage loans in Argentina, a transformative initiative for the real estate market. This move reshapes demand, expanding homeownership opportunities for middle-income households, who previously relied on renting. This development is set to energize the residential real estate sector.
The event also addressed the challenges posed by rising costs in Argentina and their impact on projects seeking viability. After a prolonged period of uncertainty, the real estate sector is poised for recovery, with EMR forecasting a compound annual growth rate of 3.8% from 2024 to 2032, reaching a market value of $33.25 billion by 2032.
Among the event's major announcements was IRSA's investment plan, exceeding US$ 2 billion. The projects include the Polo Dot Towers, the Edificio del Plata in the city center, a new shopping mall in La Plata surrounded by 15 residential towers and a hotel, M35 with three towers housing 500 apartments, and the ambitious residential project Ramblas del Plata, formerly known as Ciudad Deportiva de Boca.
Expo Real Estate Argentina 2024 successfully concluded, attracting around 10,000 attendees and reaffirming its status as a vital platform for networking and exploring new collaboration and investment opportunities.
