Following the COVID-19 pandemic, the Los Cabos region in Baja California Sur, Mexico, has emerged as one of the most attractive Latin American destinations for foreign travelers, especially those from Canada and the United States.

Due to the increasing search for paradisiacal destinations to mitigate lockdowns, the real estate market in Los Cabos has become one of the most sought-after, primarily in the development of luxury residences, master plans, and hotel resorts with a wide range of services and amenities.

On February 15 and 16, Inmobiliare magazine hosted a new edition of #REBSummit, one of the leading international real estate business congresses, at the Marquis Los Cabos resort.

Given the current context of opportunities in this region of Baja California, the event outlined a program of various talks and panels aimed at discussing the challenges, models, and structures that arise within the hotel program and other tourist projects such as second homes.

Gonzalo Puceiro, Senior Manager at GP, participated in a panel on hotel projects titled: "Necessary Approaches for the Development of New Hotel Projects in Los Cabos." The panel included Christian Lega (Deloitte Mexico), Mauricio Salicrup (Los Cabos Hotel Association), Alonso Burgos (Marriott International), and José Manuel Oliveros (Hilton).

Gonzalo mentioned that "thanks to the special interest from the U.S., the Los Cabos area currently offers a great opportunity for the development of residential and hotel projects. During the event, it was concluded that the state of Baja California presents the ideal conditions to open its market internationally, similar to what is currently happening in the Riviera Maya."
