Gómez Platero was recognized as Uruguay's leading exporter of architectural services by the Union of Exporters of Uruguay, the Banco República, and Uruguay XXI during the 2020 Export Effort Recognition Ceremony.
For 20 years, we have been working on projects across different parts of Latin America, taking pride in representing Uruguay beyond its borders. The international calling of the studio began to take shape when Martín Gómez Platero returned to Uruguay after completing a postgraduate degree in Business Administration at Berkeley. His vision was clear: the future lay in developing projects for the world, starting with Latin America. The pursuit of internationalization became a firm strategy amidst the Uruguayan economic and social crisis of the early 2000s. Gómez Platero began to travel and participate in international competitions. In 2002, the studio won the competition to design the Guayaquil Bus Terminal, and since then, it has continuously worked abroad.
We currently have projects in 11 Latin American countries, including the Banco de Guayaquil in Ecuador, Edificio Miranda in Paraguay, Camelias in Peru, Catehua in Mexico, Epic in Costa Rica, and Palmares Valley Social Hub in Argentina, among others.
It is a source of pride to be leaders in the export of architectural services and a responsibility we take very seriously and with great dedication. Congratulations to the GP team!
We extend our special thanks to the Minister of Industry, Energy, and Mining, Omar Paganini; the Executive Director of Uruguay XXI, Jaime Miller; the President of BROU, Salvador Ferrer; and the President of the Union of Exporters of Uruguay, Andrea Roth, for their participation in the ceremony.
