In the project three dimensions convey: natural, temporal and programmatic. These are tied up by the spatial resolution, which allows connecting the diferent levels of the existing buildings.
The proposed “in between” object will be a new place of encounter that assumes the challenge of involving the cited dimensions, as to materialize them in physical coordinates, between space and time.
Natural Axis (topographic diagonal) the composition takes over a fraction of nature linking both the Alvar Aalto Museum and the Museum of Central Finland, preserving the continuity along the passage.
Programmatic connector (functional diagonal) fuses the diverse activites of the compound as to create a multipurpose and hyper-programmatic dynamic concavity.
Temporal link (historic diagonal) Interpretating the transition of Aalto’s architectural languaje, the Project proposes a re-definied contemporary space supposed to obliquely cross space and time.
