Centauro represents a sprawling urban development spanning 368 hectares, distinguished by its premium residential macro-lots, ingeniously crafted atop a terrain of unique topography. Nestled in the eastern part of Chihuahua, Mexico, this project is set against a backdrop of arid landscapes marked by dramatic contours.
A meticulous examination of the site was undertaken to pinpoint areas apt for urban development. This analysis laid the foundation for the project's overarching design strategies and the blueprint for its future growth. Emerging from this groundwork is a plan featuring 60 macro-lots, each encompassing 5 hectares. These lots are thoughtfully arranged along a principal thoroughfare, which gracefully weaves through the topography, fostering a dialogue with the surrounding landscape.
Central to the project's layout is the creation of focal points within several strategically chosen enclaves. These hubs are envisioned to host a vibrant mix of commercial, recreational, and medium-density mixed-use spaces. The objective here is to leverage the non-developable areas to augment the scenic quality of the territory adjacent to the roadways, thereby infusing the urban development with a distinctive character and identity.
To guarantee the privacy and security of its residents, the division of the macrolots is carried out through vertical enclosures built from noble materials that are naturally integrated into the territory, such as wood, stones and Corten steel. These materials, together with the public spaces that take shape from the road, harmonize with the visual characteristics of the territory and contribute to the integral identity of the project.
In order to enhance the enjoyment of the landscape and the quality of the views, different circular viewpoints are defined, arranged at various points in the urbanization that nourish the public spaces. Cycle lanes are also incorporated that accompany the road, allowing the entire project to be explored.
