This residential development is located on Camino de los Horneros in one of the fastest-growing areas of high-end housing developments in the country, just 20 minutes from Montevideo. It is in a green area with a surrounding natural landscape that invites people to enjoy the outdoors.
The master plan seeks to generate a natural habitat that harmoniously incorporates the native vegetation. For this reason it has a continuous, curved road layout that provides a pleasant stroll or drive for residents and visitors, as well as enhancing the geographical features of the environment and complementing the ecological aspects.
The development includes – in a horizontal property regime – 189 houses on lots of around 500 m². The 120 to 140 m² freestanding housing units are one or two stories tall. Each home has a private outdoors area, such as a yard and a vegetable garden, which foments a connection with the land and makes it possible for the families to grow their own organic food.
In addition, large common-use areas are projected, to strengthen links in the community. These include a roomy club house, common green spaces, barbecues, an outdoor pool, a children´s playground, tennis and paddle courts, a coworking space for residents, a preschool and daycare, paved roads and landscaped areas.
The landscape design is by Dana Caren, which preserves and enhances the existing flora on the land, where there are large bald cypress, chinaberry, walnut, ash, pepper, black locust and sweetgum trees.
