Program:
Masterplan
-
Status:
Built
-
Area:
55 ha.
The master plan is conceived as an heterogeneous environmental unit, where artefact and nature are integrated in a common support process, hybridizing itself so as to form complementary units in which fragments of nature are included in the constructed fabric, and vice versa.
The park is structured in a system of axes that begin in the entrance gateway and are organized into two articulated areas: in the south, the Megapharma facilities located on a landscaped axis parallel to the route; the northern area organizes the enlargement of the second phase on a central axis. An exterior perimeter circuit is projected, withtransport service infrastructures and areas for wáter treatment, solid waste and energy, which guarantees service capacity and enlargement flexibility to the lots without interfering with the entrance and leisure systems.
The master plan connects different programmaticareas with their corresponding production strategies, productive and environmental quality policies, and organizes the layouts and enlargement of the facilities.
Entrance Pavilion
The operational, logistic and technical functions of the free-trade and customs areas are projected in the space preceding the Access to Zona Franca Parque de las Ciencias.
The entrance pavilion materializes the limit between the entrance lot and the free-trade zone. It proposes an image according to the program and an architectural-structural intervention.
The roof, anelevated sheet parallel to the route, rises towards the route’s access as a gesture of opening and entry. The proposal calls on a materiality consistent with the interpretation of the program, suitable for the usages,of low maintenance, andthat avoids formal excesses
Speed, the interaction of distances at a perceptive level, the flat topography and the linear and horizontal configuration were decisive data to define the architectural conception of the gateway.
